Pipedrive with Astro
I connect the site's forms to Pipedrive so submissions create or update the right contacts, leads or deals, with ownership, attribution and follow-up defined before anything is written.

How I set up Pipedrive
Which object a submission becomes is the first decision, and it depends on how the team works. Some qualify in the Leads Inbox and convert later; some want a deal in a pipeline from the first form. Either way the person and the organization behind it are created or matched first, because the rest references them.
Then ownership, attribution and the follow-up activity, so the record arrives somewhere a person is actually looking.
The mapping is documented because Pipedrive's internal field keys matter. A renamed field may keep working. A deleted and recreated field may look the same in the interface and fail in the integration. That distinction should not live only inside an automation scenario.

Why this is the key handoff
A record in the wrong place is a record nobody works. A record in the wrong place is a record nobody is working. I check that the match did not create a duplicate, that the stage is the one your process starts at, and that the owner was told.

What to watch out for
- 01
Persons, leads and deals are separate objects with separate rules
A submission can become a person on its own, a lead in the Leads Inbox linked to that person, or a deal in a pipeline. Which one your process actually works from is the first thing to settle and the easiest to get wrong.
- 02
Custom fields are addressed by key, not by name
The API wants the field's hash. Somebody rebuilding a field in the UI generates a new one, and the integration keeps writing to the old key without complaining.
- 03
Duplicate detection is not automatic
The same person submitting twice creates two records unless the integration looks first, so the match runs before the write rather than after somebody notices.
